Intrinsic value of the company’s DNA, the constant search for new products and innovation is at the origin of the Kartell Smart Wood collection. Philippe Starck developed his creative idea by first choosing a natural material such as wood but which, in the hands of Kartell, becomes an industrial product. Using a special patented technique, a single thin layer of wood is used and then molded, which allows the panel to be bent as much as possible to create a seat shell with sinuous lines never before achieved. In particular, Kartell has managed, first, to bend this material in 3D in two directions, horizontally and vertically to offer a 3D effect where even the sides create welcoming curves to guarantee optimal comfort.
